At the heart of the Apokoronas Peninsula in Western Crete sits the thriving old village of Vamos. Although only a 10-minute drive from many of the beautiful and unspoilt local beaches, Vamos provides a year-round haven, away from it all. Bank facilities, bakery, mini-markets, pharmacy, 24-hour Health Centre and several good tavernas are all to be found within the village. It is the perfect place to base yourself for a vacation - whether it be a sunshine summer holiday or at any time of the year to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area, so rich in flora and wildlife, not to mention the thousands of years of history and archaeology. The old Venetian capital of Chania with its beautiful harbour is just a short drive away.

A 5-minute walk from the centre of Vamos, at the edge of the village, you will find Dolphin and Octopus Villas. Both villas look across the village northwards to Souda Bay, and have wonderful views of the White Mountains to the southwest. Situated within a stone-walled enclosure, the villas have been built by a local architect. They are designed and constructed in traditional local style, but provide every modern comfort. Facilities include all the usual modern appliances. Each villa has its own private swimming pool. Both villas offer free WiFi internet access.
